Metadata FieldMetadata Sub-fieldDescription
studyThe name of the cohort study that the variable is from
categoryThe category of data that the variable belongs to (e.g. geography, linked education data, linked health data, omics, substudy data, survey data)
research_topicThe broader concept(s) that are measured by this variable plus the specific concept(s) that are measured by this variable (split by the ':' character)
sweep_year_ageThe sweep that the variable is from plus the year the sweep took place plus the age of the cohort member at the time of the sweep
variable_nameThe name of the variable in the deposited dataset
variable_labelA short description of the variable
derivedWhether the variable represents derived data (NOTE some edits required)
UKDS_SNThe UKDS access level for the deposited dataset plus the study number that the dataset is included in at the UKDS
dataset_nameName of the UKDS deposited dataset that the variable is included in
MORE INFOincludes:Available by clicking on the arrow in the leftmost column
instrumentName of the instrument that contains the question related to this variable
sectionSection of the instrument that the question represented by this variable may be found
instrument PDFLink to a PDF of the instrument that contains the question related to this variable
questionQuestion text for the question either represented by, or used to derive this variable
respondentPerson of who the question represented by this variable was asked
about whomWho the question represented by this variable was asked about
value labelsAll possible response options and associated descriptive labels for categorical variables
scaleThe name of the scale that the question represented by the variable belongs to
value typeType of data stored in this variable (numeric, string etc) plus the SPSS data type (F1 etc)
